On Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, the Hernando County Button Collectors Group held its first membership recruitment event. Sylvia Liszka Durell presented "The History of Buttons: Why We Collect the Little Masterpieces of Art" to a crowd of 27 people. After the presentation, the group had the opportunity to view hundreds of unique, antique and simply beautiful buttons for the collection of HCBCG member, Anne Buckingham. One-third of the audience completed membership forms and will be invited to attend the group's next event , which will be at a private opening of the May-Stringer Hernando History Museum in December. Anne Buckingham will talk about and display Moonglow buttons.
