I am super excited to have been asked to become the Florida State Button Society's Publicity Chair! The FSBS was formed in 1952 to promote the collecting, preservation and enjoyment of buttons. There are seven clubs all around the state of Florida and the Hernando County Button Collectors Group, of which I am a founding member. I'll be promoting the Annual FSBS Meeting and Show in Daytona Beach Shores Resort in January, among other projects.

_Here's the Tampa Bay Times (Hernando Co. section) article about button collecting and the Button Collectors Group in Hernando County. I hope it attracts new enthusiasts and collectors! To see more about the group, visit us at Hernando County Button Collectors Group on Facebook. Our next meeting is Monday, Feb. 22 at 1:00 p.m. in the Brooksville Library.
http://www.tampabay.com/news/humaninterest/button-collectors-form-group-for-like-minded-enthusiasts/2265878 Beth Gray, reporter for Tampa Bay Times, interviewed Anne Buckingham and me for an article on button collecting and the Hernando County Button Collectors Group at my home last week. Be on the lookout for the article in this Friday's Hernando section. It will likely also be online, so when it appears, I will provide a link here as well. As you can tell by these photos, Beth was surprised at what a beautiful and interesting hobby button collecting is!
I found this red and brown metal wall hanging recently at a thrift store. It seemed to be crying out for button embellishment! There were ready-made circles at the end of the wire stem pieces that were perfect for sticking a button on. It was fun finding pretty ones with which to encircle the flowers and different sized and colored brown ones for the dirt. Measures 21" tall.
Because of problems with my DVD pausing where it shouldn't, I pull the DVD from sales until I could get some help with that problem. I have done a couple of things differently, including breaking the program into three parts, which seems to have helped. It is now back on the product page for sale. Please know that should you ever run into any problems with the DVD, I will make it right. Thank you for your patience. There is so much to know about technology!
