This list of button manufacturers and their button back marks might be helpful when dating buttons. It's from an interesting thesis by Sarah Elizabeth Marcel of The University of Tennessee - Knoxville "Buttoning Down the Past: A Look at Buttons as Indicators of Chronology and Material Culture."

A terrific second meeting of our newly expanded Hernando County Button Collectors Group was held Dec. 13, 2015 at the wonderful May-Stringer/Hernando County History Museum. Three months ago we started with 4 members and this day we had 20 people at our meeting! Anne Buckingham's talk about Moonglow buttons was very informative and the many cards of actual Moonglow buttons she and other members shared delighted the attendees. Refreshments on the wraparound porch made for a lovely social time. |
