Trying new things with your Button Club or Collectors Group can pay off big in fun and camaraderie. That's what we at the Hernando County Button Collectors Group learned after our Button Scavenger Hunt at our local Goodwill Store. You'd be surprised at what unique buttons we found on the garments there. I was a little reluctant to suggest the "field trip" idea to our group, but our members showed immediate interest in the event. Nine of us showed up and spent 45 minutes shopping for buttons. (We only scratched the surface!) Afterwards, we met at a Perkins Family Restaurant to show and swap our buttons finds. The photo to the left are of the buttons I found. The big brown ones are still attached to a Chico's jacket that actually fits me, so i didn't remove the buttons. I swapped some of the watermelon buttons and orange flower buttons for the others shown in the photo. I also couldn't resist the bling-y clasp!
